Amelia Troubridge (b. 1974) is a British photographer, born in London. Spanning three decades, Amelia first gained recognition with her award-winning series on inner city youth horse culture in Dublin, in the mid 90s.
Working across long-term personal projects and editorial commissions, photographing high profile people in art, film and politics, Troubridge has developed a practice grounded in close observation and engagement with her subjects.
Amelia has worked on numerous film sets including Micheal Winterbottom’s 24 Hour Party People, and Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard’s 20,000 days on earth.
Troubridge is the author of several photography books, including Trouble with Amelia (Booth Clibborn, 2005), Malta Diaries (Trolley Books, 2006), and Joan (Trolley Books, 2015). She has published five zines with The British social documentary publisher Café Royal Books: Manchester (2020), Dublin (2020) , Soho (2020), Chaos (2022), and On Tour with Motörhead (2021).
Editorial and commercial clients include The NY Times, Vanity Fair, Dazed, The Guardian, TIME Magazine, Louis Vuitton, Hiscox Art, The BBC, and Channel 4.
Her photographs have been exhibited and held in private collections, including The London Design Museum and The Photographers’ Gallery, London; Phillips de Pury, NY; Colette’s, Paris; the Martin Parr Foundation, Bristol; Photo London; & World Press Photo, Amsterdam.
Amelia has delivered talks At Cambridge University, Central St Martins, and worked closely with a number of charities including Women for Women & The Olwyn Foundation.
